After another night of Israeli strikes on Beirut, Lebanese politician Michel Helou described the city as “tense.” He said the attacks are causing trauma and significant psychological stress for residents. Helou noted that many people couldn’t sleep due to the ongoing strikes in the southern suburb of Dahieh, a Hezbollah stronghold. The Israeli army issues evacuation warnings on Twitter, but Helou questioned how people could evacuate quickly enough. Israel claims it is trying to minimize civilian harm, accusing Hezbollah of using civilian areas to hide its operations.
