After 16 seasons, 241 matches, and making it to the finals three times, we’re still wondering: will this finally be the year for Royal Challengers Bengaluru?

Hello and welcome to India.com’s House of Champions with Driti. In this video we are going to talk about Strenght and weeknesses of RCB.

The team, previously known as Royal Challengers Bangalore, hasn’t won a trophy in almost twenty years. But now, at least the franchise can be happy that the dry spell is over, thanks to the women’s team winning it all in just their second year. However, for the men’s team, the question lingers: will they finally get their hands on that elusive trophy in IPL 2024?

The answer to this question, which has been around for fifteen years, isn’t easy. RCB knows this too well, especially since they didn’t make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. This comes after three seasons of making it past the first hurdle and moving on to the next stage.

Now, let’s take a closer look at what RCB has in their favor that could help them throughout the entire tournament. Imagine being a bowler facing Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Dinesh Karthik in succession. It’s enough to make any bowling attack nervous. RCB had been missing a key player like Patidar last year, but now with him in the mix, this could be his breakthrough season.

With three Indian players and two bowling options already, RCB has the flexibility to choose a batting all-rounder or a pure batsman like Anuj Rawat at No. 7. But no matter what, this batting line-up has the potential to dismantle even the toughest bowling attacks when they’re in full flow.

Well there were the strong points but unfortunately RCB’s weaknesses might dominate them.

RCB has a whopping nine pace bowling options this season, showing they’re serious about beefing up their fast bowling arsenal after releasing players like Harshal Patel and Josh Hazlewood. But the big question is, do these options and backups really meet RCB’s needs? It’s hard to say for sure right now, as only time will tell. However, it’s evident that RCB has concerns not just with pace, but with their entire bowling department.

Two years after the mega auction, RCB finds themselves without either Hasaranga or Yuzvendra Chahal. Bowling spin at M Chinnaswamy Stadium is challenging, especially with the small boundaries and flat pitches. Now, the burden of spin bowling falls heavily on Karn Sharma, who may be nearing the end of his career. They also have Mayank Dagar, a decent option they traded in, and Swapnil Singh, who has been around for a while but hasn’t yet cemented his place in the team.

If RCB has to have a chance in IPL 2024, they will need runs from their batting line-up consistently and needless to say, high scores.

Again the big question, can RCB men’s team win IPL 2024? Only time will tell but till then do follow India.com for more updates.
