In a high-profile interview on X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk engaged in a lengthy conversation with former US President Donald Trump. The 78-year-old Trump told Musk that if Joe Biden drops out of the presidential race, it would be a “coup.” He said, “I beat Biden so badly in the debate that he had to drop out of the race. It was one of the best debate performances ever. Biden leaving was like a coup.”
In the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden won against Donald Trump. Even though many checks, recounts, and legal cases tried to prove the election was unfair, no one found any big problem or fraud that would have changed the result.
During the interview, Trump described the assassination attempt as a “hard hit” and said it felt strange but not unreal. He explained that although such situations often feel surreal, he didn’t feel that way when the bullet grazed his ear.
Trump, however, praised the leaders of Russia, China, and North Korea, stating that they are performing at the top of their game. He also emphasized the need for a strong US president to effectively deal with these global leaders.
Calling Biden a “sleepy Joe,” Trump claimed that Russia wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if Biden hadn’t been president.
The high-profile interview was planned for 5:30 AM IST but got delayed by more than 40 minutes because of a cyberattack called a DDOS attack.
During the two-hour chat, Trump also criticized his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris, for the 2024 presidential race. Trump suggested that if Kamala Harris is in charge, the US economy might face serious issues and could even end up “going out of business.”
The former US president also claimed that some countries are releasing prisoners and sending them to the US, which brings more crime and violence.
Trump’s statements are meant to stir strong reactions and rally his supporters where some believe personal relationships between leaders can help solve problems and build trust, while others think formal policies and agreements are more important for clear and fair communication.
Well, the interview, which was watched by over 1.3 million viewers, allowed Trump to gain attention as Kamala Harris recently closed the poll gap after replacing Joe Biden.
