Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru are struggling in the ongoing season of the tournament. Their bowling is not up to the mark and that the one of the reasons why Kohli & Co are unable to win matches. RCB won just a single game out of their seven outings of the tournament.
Can you imagine star star-studded team consisting of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis losing 5 matches in a row? Last night irrespective of Dinesh Karthik’s 83 and Faf’s 62, RCB lost against Sunrisers Hyderabad and posted just 267 runs with 7 wickets loss.
Despite their poor performance so far, they can still qualify for the playoffs.
RCB have just seven matches left while currently having just two points on the board with a miserable net run rate (NRR) of -1.185. This means the maximum number of points the RCB can get is 16, which puts them in a danger zone despite half the tournament still left.
On an averge, no team has qualified with less than 16 points in last season. This means that RCB is now just one defeat away from being knocked out of the tournament. In simple terms, RCB probably needs to win all the remaining games and not just that they also have to pray that some other teams have to lose too, with that they also need to boost their Net Run Rate (NRR) by a lot.
And this is how RCB can qualify for the playoff, I know I know the task is quite tough because, RCB have to play 7 matches ahead and For all practical purposes, each of RCB’s next seven games are must-win matches, and they cannot afford a defeat and let me remind you here They do not have another home game for another 19 days, but when Virat is in the team, never say never.
