Global markets has been shook after Israel launched a retaliatory attack on Iranian soil. And this attack has adverse effects on oil and gold prices.
Oil and gold prices shot up after US officials confirmed that Israel launched a missile strike on Iran. Brent crude, the global standard for oil pricing, surged by 1.8% to hit $88 a barrel. Meanwhile, gold prices briefly neared a record high, reaching nearly $2,400 per ounce before retracting.
Investors have been on edge, closely monitoring Israel’s response to Iran’s recent drone and missile assault. The tension in the region has fueled concerns about potential disruptions to oil supplies and increased demand for safe-haven assets like gold.
People worry that if the conflict in the Middle East gets worse, it could mess up the supply of oil. At first, oil prices shot up by as much as 3.5%. But then, Iranian state media said there was no harm done in Isfahan province, where there were reports of explosions. This news made the price gains go down.
If oil prices keep going up a lot, it could make inflation worse. Lots of countries depend on oil to make things like gasoline and diesel. Fuel and energy costs have been a big reason why it’s been more expensive to live in many places around the world in recent years.

Iran is a significant producer of oil rather than a major importer. However, its oil industry has faced various challenges due to international sanctions and geopolitical tensions. As for gold, Iran’s imports can vary based on factors like economic conditions, government policies, and global market trends.
