Updated: April 26, 2024 11:58 AM IST In a very disturbing turn of events, Hamas has released a video featuring Israeli-American hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin a 23 year old boy who was seized from the Nova music festival amidst Hamas’ attack on Israel, which resulted in over 1,200 casualties and the abduction of more than 200 individuals.
Though this video has marked the initial evidence of his survival after being severely injured during his capture but in the video he is seen missing a substantial portion of his left arm. Though in the previous footage from Oct 7, it showed him being taken hostage with his arm severely wounded.
In the video, Goldberg-Polin is seen sitting down, sometimes moving his injured arm as he talks to the camera. He starts by introducing himself, sharing his date of birth and his parents’ names. He mentions that almost 200 days have gone by since he was captured. This suggests that the video was made before April 23, which would have been the 200th day of the conflict.
Like other Israeli hostages in Hamas propaganda videos, Goldberg Polin voiced criticism towards the Israeli government, particularly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He urged his family to remain resilient and extended wishes, especially for the Jewish holiday of Passover.

Meanwhile his parents expressed relief at seeing him alive but voiced concern for his well-being and that of other hostages.
His family demanded immediate action for his release, along with other hostages still detained in Gaza.
Gaza are still believed to be holding around 100 hostages and the remains of some 30 others. Most of the rest were freed in November in exchange for the release of 240 Palestinians imprisoned by Israel.
