Aid for Gaza is stuck, as the US faces logistical and security challenges in delivering help to 2.2 million people facing starvation. The United States is having a hard time delivering 500 tons of humanitarian aid every day to Gaza, which has been affected by war.

None of the aid unloaded from the temporary pier, built off the Gaza coast, has reached the people yet. This delay has become worse, even though the US, along with the United Nations and Israel, are trying hard to find safe routes to deliver aid within Gaza.

In the last week, the US has moved 569 tons of aid to Gaza using a temporary pier called Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (JLOTS). But, even with this effort, the aid has encountered many logistical problems.

To deal with these challenges, the US is working with Israel and the UN to create “alternative routes” for delivering aid safely. This collaboration involves finding ways to transport aid by land and solving problems like sea and weather conditions. US Defence Secretary Austin is talking with Israeli officials to make sure land crossings, including through Rafah, are safe and open for aid delivery, even though it’s a critical but complicated entry point.

Additionally, the US has carried out numerous humanitarian air drops in collaboration with the Royal Jordanian Air Force. However, it’s unsure if these drops will continue regularly in the future. But here aid dropping generates another issue, many people lost their lives in Gaza as a result of airdropped aid. Now how will these 2.2 million people can be helped, the US will need to find a solution to it.
