Israeli jets bombed the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, on September 27, targeting Hezbollah’s headquarters and weapon sites. The attack resulted in at least six deaths and 91 injuries, according to Lebanon’s health ministry. Reports indicated that the strikes aimed at Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, but he is said to be “fine.” The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed they killed Hezbollah’s missile unit commander and other senior officials.
This was Israel’s strongest strike since the 2006 war with Hezbollah. The attacks happened just hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the UN, promising to keep fighting.
