In a major escalation, Israel has launched extensive airstrikes targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon, hitting over 300 sites. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) warned civilians to avoid homes that store Hezbollah weapons, as they identified operatives planning rocket attacks on Israel. Dozens of Israeli fighter jets participated in the operation, marking a significant intensification of the conflict.

Along with its military actions, Israel has told civilians in the affected areas to evacuate. This is important because many of the strikes are near places where people live and work. The aim is to reduce the risk of harming civilians while tackling the threats they face.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that the airstrikes resulted in the death of a civilian shepherd and injured several others. The strikes focused on areas in southern Lebanon, including the Beqaa Valley and Tyre.

The missile shown in the footage is a Russian-made DR-3 variant, which contains 300 kilograms of explosives and can hit targets up to 200 kilometers away. IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari warned Lebanese civilians that Hezbollah is putting their lives at risk. At the same time, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant talked with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin about the ongoing situation.

Meanwhile, IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee warned civilians that Hezbollah is not looking out for their safety. He said that Hezbollah values its missiles and drones more than the lives of ordinary people, implying that the group is putting civilians at risk.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant urged the public to stay calm, saying that in the coming days, people need to be composed, disciplined, and follow instructions. He emphasized that a strong and resilient home front is crucial for the IDF to effectively fight and succeed against the enemy.

So, The IDF’s airstrikes are a response to rising tensions along Israel’s northern border, where Hezbollah has been ramping up rocket fire over the weekend.

On Sunday, Hezbollah launched 85 rockets into northern Israel in retaliation for the device detonations across Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah communications.
Later On Monday, the IDF released footage of Hezbollah operatives getting ready to launch a missile from a civilian home.
