In recent news, a controversy has erupted between Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut.

“It all started when Supriya Shrinate criticized Kangana Ranaut’s remarks on social media.

A derogatory post by a Congress leader on actor Kangana Ranaut’s electoral debut sparked this controversy.

The post, made a day after the BJP fielded Kangana Ranaut from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, showed a photo of cladly dressed Kangana Ranaut, with a derogatory caption. Can someone tell what is the current rate in Mandi (market)?

Although later on Supriya Shrinate claimed that the social media post, which has since been taken down, was made by someone who had access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts. She also blamed a parody account that was misusing her name on X.

Meanwhile, the post drew a sharp response from the BJP and Kangana Ranaut.

Ranaut shared her response on X and said that “every woman deserves her dignity”

She mention in a social media post, Dear Supriya ji, In the last 20 years of my career as an artist I have played all kinds of women. From a naive girl in Queen to a seductive spy in Dhaakad, from a goddess in Manikarnika to a demon in Chandramukhi, from a prostitute in Rajjo to a revolutionary leader in Thalaivii,

We must free our daughters from the shackles of prejudices, we must rise above the curiosity about their body parts and above all we must refrain from using sex workers challenging lives or circumstances as some kind of abuse or slur… every woman deserves her dignity.

The National Commission for Women has, through a letter to the Election Commission of India called for ‘strict action’ against Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate and party leader HS Ahir for their derogatory post

While the BJP has demanded that the Congress take action in the matter, there is no response yet from the grand old party or any of its senior leaders.
