The President’s remarks come as nationwide protests continue in the wake of the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at a state-run hospital in Kolkata.
President Droupadi Murmu has declared that it’s time for India to address the serious issue of crimes against women. She emphasized that society must challenge the harmful belief that women are less powerful, capable, or intelligent. In her view, the country needs to confront these damaging attitudes and take strong action to protect women.
