The post-mortem report of the trainee doctor who was raped and killed in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital showed that she had been severely harmed in her genital area.
According to India Today reports, the rape and murder probably happened between 3 am and 5 am on August 9.

The report also highlighted deep injuries on her belly, lips, fingers, and left leg. Sources said that her nose and mouth were covered, and her head was forced against a wall to stop her from making noise.
The scratch marks on the woman’s face are thought to have come from the accused’s fingernails, showing that she tried very hard to defend herself. The report also said that the woman was bleeding from her eyes, mouth, and private parts.
Later, a police officer confirmed that the case is a murder, not a suicide after sexual assault. Initially, the police had mistakenly called it a suicide.

The body of the post-graduate trainee was found in the seminar room of the West Bengal government hospital on Friday morning. The police have arrested a civic volunteer named Sanjoy Roy for the crime.
Sanjoy Roy is a trained boxer. He was working at the police outpost in the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Following the arrest of Roy, a police official said that Sanjoy Roy liked watching disturbing and violent porn. He had been married four times and was known for being a womanizer.
After allegedly committing the crime, Sanjoy Roy went back to his barracks and slept for several hours. When he woke up, he washed his clothes to try to remove any evidence.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee warned the Kolkata police that if they don’t solve the case by Sunday, it will be handed over to the CBI, a central investigative agency.
