In the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, happening on May 13, people will vote for 96 seats in 10 different states and union territories. Here’s a breakdown of the areas involved. There are 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh.
17 constituencies in Telangana, 13 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 11 seats in Maharashtra, 8 seats in West Bengal, 8 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 5 seats each in Bihar and Jharkhand, 4 seats in Odisha, 1 seat in Jammu and Kashmir.

First is Baharampur-West Bengal- Well, there is a big competition between three main parties: Congress, BJP, and Trinamool Congress. The battle is intense, especially between Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from Congress, Yusuf Pathan, a former Indian cricketer, and Nirmal Kumar Saha from BJP. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who is currently the West Bengal Congress president, has been representing Baharampur in the Lok Sabha. He’s a well-known figure in the area and has won for Congress three times in a row, from 2009 to 2019.
Second is Hyderabad-Telangana- In Hyderabad, there’s a major face-off in the Lok Sabha election. Madhavi Latha from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is challenging Asaduddin Owaisi, the sitting Member of Parliament from AIMIM. Asaduddin Owaisi is well-known and liked in the constituency. He’s running for a fifth term and is putting a lot of effort into his campaign, focusing on issues like political representation and the rights of minorities.
The third crucial seat is Krishnanagar-West Bengal- Here TMC leader Mahua Moitra faces BJP’s Amrita Roy. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Mahua Moitra from the TMC won by getting 6 Lakhs votes. She defeated BJP’s Kalyan Chaubey, who got 5 Lakhs votes. Shantanu Jha from CPI(M) received 1 Lakh votes. But here is twist Recently, Mahua Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha.
Begusarai in Bihar is the fourth crucial seat In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Giriraj Singh is competing against CPI candidate Awadhesh Rai. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Giriraj Singh won against CPI’s Kanhaiya Kumar. Giriraj Singh received 6 lakhs plus votes, which was 56.48% of the total votes, while Kanhaiya Kumar got 2 lakh votes, which was 22.03% of the votes.
Fifth seat is Munger-Bihar- Here Janata Dal (United) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, is up against RJD leader Anita Devi. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Lalan Singh from JD(U) won in Munger with a big lead of over 1.67 lakh votes. He defeated RJD’s Neelam Devi.
The next seats is Srinagar-Jammu and Kashmir: There a contest between Mehdi from the National Conference, Waheed Parra from the PDP, and Mohammad Ashraf Mir from the Apni Party. The seat is currently held by Farooq Abdullah, the chief of the National Conference.
The seventh crucial seat is Kannauj-Uttar Pradesh: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav is competing against the current MP and BJP leader Subrat Pathak. Akhilesh Yadav previously served as a Lok Sabha MP from 2000 to 2012. He resigned from the Kannauj parliamentary seat in 2012 when he became the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
