Congress party in West Bengal would shocked, as their main leader in the state, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has defeated in his home area of Baharampur.

In total there are 543 constituencies and out of these constituencies, West Bengal has 42 seats and wait, out of these 42 seats TMC has secured 29, BJP has secured 12 and Congress has secured 1.

InBaharampur Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury trailing with 4 lakh votes and is behind Yusuf Pathan, the star candidate from Trinamool Congress and former cricketer who has more then 4lakh 50 thousand votes.

Now with Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury loss, the Baharampur parliamentary seat, one of the last strongholds of the Congress in the state, it will be the first time the Trinamool Congress wins in that area.

Chowdhury has been an MP from Baharampur since 1999 and is the current Pradesh Congress president of West Bengal. This election has been his toughest challenge, facing Yusuf Pathan, the non-resident candidate from the TMC.

While Chowdhury defeated RSP’s P. Mukherjee thrice in a row, the Congress leader had successfully overcome challenges from his prime TMC opponents during the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections during the Mamata Banerjee era
