The third phase of the Lok Sabha elections was conducted on 7th May, with around 64.58 percent of voters turning out and this is the data given by says the Election Commission. People voted in 11 states and Union Territories. Assam had the highest turnout at 81.71 percent, while Uttar Pradesh had the lowest at 57.34 percent.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was also running for election, were among the important people who voted.
During Phase 3 of voting, people voted for 93 seats in different places
Now according to the elctions committion the voter turnout in states and Union territories went like, Assam – 81.71%, Bihar – 58.18%, Chhattisgarh- 71.06%, Daman and Diu- 69.87%, Goa – 75.20 %, Gujarat- 59.51%, Karnataka – 70.41%, Madhya Pradesh- 66.05 %, Maharashtra – 61.44%, Uttar Pradesh – 57.34% and West Bengal – 76.52%
The election has finished voting on more than half of the 543 parliamentary seats, which could show what the country wants. In Surat, the BJP won because the Congress candidate’s nomination was rejected and others withdrew.
The first two phases of voting happened on April 19 and 26. Voting for all 543 Lok Sabha seats will happen in seven phases. The next phases will be on May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. Votes will be counted for all seven phases on June 4.
The BJP-led NDA, which is seeking a record third term under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has set a target of winning 400 seats this election. The ruling alliance is challenged by the opposition parties led by the Congress under the banner of the INDIA bloc.
