In a surprising turn of events, The 58 seats that voted in phase 6 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on May 25 had an approximate voter turnout of 61.75 percent, according to the Election Commission of India.

This is slightly lower than the turnout for these 58 seats in 2019, which was 64.73 percent, excluding the newly delimited Anantnag-Rajouri seat in Jammu and Kashmir.

West Bengal had the highest voter turnout at 80 percent. Jharkhand followed with 63.76 percent, and Odisha had 71 percent. Haryana recorded 62 percent voter turnout, while Delhi had 58.3 percent, and Bihar had 55.24 percent. Uttar Pradesh had 54.03 percent, and the Anantnag-Rajouri seat in Jammu and Kashmir had 54.46 percent, the highest since 1984.
These numbers come from the Election Commission’s voter turnout app. Final numbers will be released in a day or two.

Elections for 486 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats were completed by the end of phase 6 polling on Saturday. The remaining 57 seats will vote in the last phase on June 1. The results for all seven phases will be declared on June 4.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday released the exact number of voters for all five phases of the Lok Sabha elections. The ECI also criticized false narratives and attempts to disrupt the electoral process.

The first three phases had a lower turnout than in 2019. However, the turnout increased starting from Phase 4.

The voter turnout in the fifth phase on May 20 was 62.2 percent, higher than the 61.82 percent in the same seats in 2019. The fourth phase on May 13 had a turnout of 69.16 percent, slightly higher than the 68.8 percent in these seats in 2019.
