Now, the Indian Express has reported that BJP is even planning to celebrate their win. The BJP’s “political event” is likely to be held at either Bharat Mandapam or Kartavya Path. This event is planned for the same day as the official swearing-in ceremony.
The event, themed as an exhibit of India’s cultural heritage, may feature a sound and light show. It is expected to be attended by 8,000-10,000 people, including representatives from foreign governments.
A senior government official told IE that the event could happen on June 9. However, the details are not yet finalized.
Meanwhile, the President’s Secretariat issued a tender on May 28 for “supplying decorative indoor and ornamental plants for the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and other ministers at Rashtrapati Bhavan.” The tender, estimated at ₹21.97 lakh, will be opened on June 3, giving the contractor five days to complete the order, according to The Indian Express. The report also mentioned that preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan began last week.
India’s markets are expected to react positively to a strong victory for Prime Minister Modi, as it is seen as a good sign for economic growth, increased investments, and reforms over the next five years. Analysts predict that the S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 indices could rise by 1% to 2% on Monday based on the exit polls.
