A deeply distressing incident that has left the city of Ratnagiri in shock where a nursing student was raped while returning home from college in an autorickshaw. This tragic incident has raised serious concerns about safety and security.

On 27 August, a shocking incident occurred in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. A 20-year-old nursing student was discovered severely injured and unconscious near Champak Ground. After her classes ended, she had taken an autorickshaw to head home, but unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle attacked her during the ride.

According to hospital sources quoted by India Today, the victim had several injuries, which has led to concerns that she might have been the victim of a serious sexual assault or rape.

The incident has caused a lot of anger, and people are demanding justice. Many nurses, along with other locals and hospital workers, took to the streets, blocking traffic in Ratnagiri to show their frustration and push for quick action against the attacker.

According to News 18, the nursing student was heading home from college in an auto-rickshaw when the driver gave her water mixed with drugs. He then took her to a quiet place and is said to have raped her.
Once she woke up, she called her family, who quickly contacted the police. The police are now looking for the driver, who is still missing.

This incident is shockingly similar to a recent case in Kolkata, where a young doctor was brutally attacked and killed. It also reminds us of a case in Badlapur, where a teenager was sexually assaulted at school. These events highlight a troubling increase in sexual violence against women in India.
