Anurag Thakur who won the Lok Sabha polls for the fifth time was not inducted into the Modi’s cabinet. Anurag is a young leader from Himachal and has handled important portfolios twice in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Modi along with his 71 MPs sworn in as ministers on 9th June.

Since there is no confirmation why Anurag Thakur is not included in the cabinet but keeping the current scenario in mind let’s break it down.

JP Nadda, who hails from Himachal Pradesh and is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, has been included in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet. Nadda had previously served as the Health Minister in Modi’s government before becoming the BJP President. Although it might not seem suitable to give representation to two members from the small state of Himachal Pradesh, there are other reasons behind this decision by PM Modi and his core team.
