In a shocking turn of events, Mumbai is gripped by the aftermath of a BMW hit-and-run case. After 72 tense hours, the accused behind the BMW hit-and-run in Mumbai has been caught.
On Sunday, a speeding BMW hit a scooter, resulting in the death of a woman in Mumbai’s Worli.
According to police sources, the car was driven by Mihir Shah who is 24 years old and the son of a prominent Shiv Sena leader named Rajesh Shah in Maharashtra, was arrested on Tuesday.
Hours earlier the police formed several teams to find Mihir Shah and they finally located him in an apartment in Virar which is about 65 kilometers from Mumbai.
The arrest happened one day after a judge gave Rajesh Shah bail on Monday while investigators said Rajesh Shah was involved in a cover-up to protect his son.
The victim who was killed has been identified as Kaveri Nakva, who lived in Worli’s Koliwada area and was riding with her husband Pradip Nakhawa.
Well this case has been filed based on the victim’s husband, Pradeep Nakhawa’s statement and this case includes different sections of the law like the BNS and the Motor Vehicle Act and these sections are 105, 281, 238, 324(4) and 187.
Well, this incident happened a few months after another case in Pune where two 24-year-old engineers died in a drink-driving accident.
In that case, a teenager driving a Porsche after drinking was speeding when the accident occurred.
Meanwhile, Shocking details have come out about the crash, including CCTV footage showing that Ms. Nakhwa was dragged for 1.5 kilometers after the collision before the accident.
On the other hand Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed concern about the increasing number of hit-and-run cases in Maharashtra.
He mentioned that powerful and influential people often try to misuse their status to manipulate the system and his government won’t allow it.
