Tragic news from Pakistan, A speeding passenger bus fell from a highway into a rocky ravine in southwest Pakistan early Wednesday. At least 28 people were killed and 20 others were injured in the accident.

The bus was traveling from Turbat city in southern Balochistan to Quetta, the provincial capital, which is about 750 km to the north. It crashed in the mountainous region early on Wednesday morning.

Officials say the death count may increase because some of the injured are in critical condition. At least 22 people died from their injuries at the Basima Civil Hospital, where the injured were taken.

Here is a really disturbing fact, On May 18, at least 13 members of the same family died and nine others were injured when the truck they were traveling in skidded off the road and fell into a ravine in Punjab province’s Khushab district. Sources told Geo News that the accident happened because the truck’s brakes failed, causing the driver to lose control.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan, mainly in its mountainous regions in Balochistan and the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier this month, at least 20 people were killed and dozens of others wounded when a passenger bus fell off a ravine in the country’s northern area of Gilgit-Baltistan.
