During a recent visit to the University of Texas at Dallas, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
He suggested that AI can be a fantastic opportunity, but it all depends on how well you're prepared to handle it. Let's explore what he means by being "positioned properly" and how it could turn AI into a real advantage for you.
While speaking to students at the University of Texas, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, addressed concerns about AI taking away jobs. He acknowledged these fears but explained that new technologies, like AI, often lead to job changes rather than just job losses. Instead of focusing on the negative aspects, he suggested looking at how AI can create new job opportunities and benefits.
Rahul Gandhi's statement highlights an important idea where he explained that every time a new technology is introduced, people worry it will take away jobs. For example, when computers, calculators, and ATMs first came out, there were fears about job losses. While it's true that these technologies can replace some jobs, they also create new ones and shift opportunities around. So, instead of disappearing, jobs will change, and new kinds of work will emerge.
He also elaborated by saying that while AI might pose significant challenges for industries like IT in India, it won't impact other industries, like scooter manufacturing by Bajaj, as much. He pointed out that AI will cause some job losses but also create new ones. The key is how well you adapt to these changes: if you prepare and position yourself well, AI can be a great opportunity; if you don't adapt, you might face difficulties.
Mr. Gandhi remembered that Atal Bihari Vajpayee once said Indians didn't need computers, and someone else said they didn't need English. Despite that, computers ended up creating millions of jobs in India. He emphasized that success depends on being adaptable and having a forward-looking perspective.
