On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a military invasion of Ukraine in a steep escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War. It has been 2 years since the war began which has effected the dynamics of forgien relations.
Now the Swiss government on Wednesday announced that it would host a high-level peace conference for Ukraine in mid-June which is aimed at finding a way towards peace in Ukraine amid the war with Russia which has continued for two years.
Nations like Brazil, China, Ethiopia, India, Saudi Arabia even south Africa are among the countries that are invited.
However, Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday mocked the Ukraine peace talks and said that no enforced plans, which ignore Moscow’s interests, will be accepted.
Putin said that Russia was not invited to the peace talks to be held in June and pointed out that a peace process can’t take place without Russia.
He said, “They aren’t inviting us there. Moreover, they think there is nothing for us to do there, but at the same time, they say that it’s impossible to decide anything without us. It would have been funny if it weren’t so sad”.
Putin added that Russia is ready to hold negotiations, but the country will never accept “any schemes that have nothing to do with reality”.
The peace formula introduced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which needed Moscow to face an international tribunal for its steps, pull back its troops and pay compensation to Ukraine has already been dismissed
If I give you a fresh update of the war then Russian strikes has desproyed Key power plant near Kyiv. The power plant was the largest electricity provider for three regions.
Russia has long been deliberately and systematically targeting Ukraine’s energy system to weaken the place from within.
Residents were urged to shut their windows, charge all their devices and stock up on water.
