Russia and Ukraine has been fighting since 2022, it has almost been 2 years of this war and In a bold statement, former U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed he can end the Russia-Ukraine war in just one day if he becomes president again. However, Russia’s United Nations ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, strongly disagrees.

At a CNN town hall in May 2023, Trump said: “They’re dying, Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll have that done” I’ll have that done in 24 hours.

Trump said he could end the war after meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and Russian President Putin. He keeps repeating this claim during his campaign. During last week’s debate with President Joe Biden, Trump claimed, If we had a real president, a president that knew that was respected by Putin … he would have never invaded Ukraine.

When asked about Trump’s claim, Nebenzia told reporters on Monday that the crisis in Ukraine cannot be solved in one day.
Nebenzia said the war could have ended in April 2022 in Istanbul when Russia and Ukraine were close to an agreement. Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. However, Russia claims its special military operation started in 2014 after fighting in eastern Ukraine led to Moscow taking control of the Crimea Peninsula.
