At a recent election rally, former President Donald Trump made some notable promises about two important issues: IVF (in vitro fertilization) and abortion rights. As the political scene becomes increasingly intense, Trump’s statements on these topics could have significant implications for American women and families.

So Let’s understand what he promised and what it could mean for people across the country.
First let me explain you what IVF is….

In Vitro Fertilization, or IVF, is a medical process to help people have a baby. It works by taking an egg and sperm and combining them outside the body in a lab. Then, the resulting embryo is placed into the uterus to hopefully grow into a pregnancy. This method is especially important for couples and individuals who have difficulty getting pregnant naturally.

During recent election rallies, Donald Trump addressed two major issues which is IVF and abortion rights. He made a commitment to protect access to IVF if he is re-elected. This means he wants to ensure that people can still get this fertility treatment without obstacles.

Trump promised to find new ways to reduce IVF costs, potentially by improving insurance coverage or changing government policies to better support women needing these treatments. Well, In simple terms, he’s aiming to make IVF more accessible and affordable for families trying to conceive.

Trump said that if he is re-elected, his administration would cover the costs of IVF treatments and require insurance companies to pay for them.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris criticized Trump on X, saying that if he wins, he plans to ban abortions and set up a national coordinator to monitor and report on abortions and miscarriages in each state.
Later In another post, Kamala Harris said that over one-third of women in the U.S. live in states with abortion bans, calling it a health care crisis. She promised to keep fighting to protect the right to choose.

Well The issues of IVF and abortion rights have been highly controversial in U.S. politics, especially after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, leading to numerous state-level legal battles.
After the 2022 mid-term elections, some Republicans who backed strict abortion laws lost, partly due to their abortion views where Democrats are now warning that these abortion restrictions could also affect access to IVF.
