On Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reaffirmed India’s position on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India is ready to support any practical and mutually acceptable plan that could help bring about peace. He emphasized that it is up to the two conflicting parties to decide when and how to start peace talks.

Regarding Indians who were stuck in the Russian army, Jaiswal provided an update. He mentioned that 15 Indians who were previously trapped in Russia have been released and have returned to India. The Indian Embassy is in regular contact with Russian authorities to help the remaining individuals who wish to come back to India.
