Now, weeks after the 19-minute viral video controversy, another alleged viral MMS clip is doing the rounds on the internet, but authorities have cautioned netizens not to click on links claiming to provide access to the “full video” or similar clips, including Sofik SK’s MMS and Payal Gaming’s alleged private video, as all there are being used by cyber criminals to commit cyber fraud.
A new video, believed to be captured with a hidden camera at a women’s toilet at the Vindhya Trade Fair in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, is being shared online, is being widely shared online, and cyber criminals are using the clip to scam gullible users by offering links to the “full video”.
As per the police, the Satna video, which has been falsely linked to the 19-minute viral video, is being used by fraudsters to scam people, noting that those who click on malicious links shared by cyber scamsters, risk providing unconsented access to their devices and personal data.
According to officials, cyber criminals are using these fake links to the 19-minute viral video to hack into users’ devices and in some cases, gain access to their personal data, including sensitive information like bank account details and passwords, allowing them to siphon money from unsuspecting and gullible users.
Cyber police are investigating those who shared both the 19-minute video and the leaked video from Satna, and have warned netizens not to click on any such links or share such videos as doing so would invite legal consequences.
Earlier this month, a 19-minute viral video, allegedly featuring Bengali YouTuber Sofik SK and his girlfriend Dustu Sonali, went viral, sparking a social media storm
Days later, prominent gamer and YouTuber, Payal Dhare, aka Payal Gaming, hit national headlines after her alleged private video, similar to the now-infamous 19-minute viral video, was leaked online.
Akin to Sofik SK’s 19-minute viral video, Payal’s alleged private clip has gone viral on social sites, bringing disrepute and infamy to the young creator, even though many have pointed out that the viral MMS video is an AI-generated deepfake.
Notably, before Payal Gaming, Dustu Sonali, and Sweet Zannat, Anjali Arora of ‘Kacha Badam’ fame, faced years of trauma when her morphed MMS clip was widely circulated on the internet.
