19-Minute Viral Video: It’s been more than a week but the ‘19-Minute Viral Video’ is still trending on the internet. Cyber security experts are also closely monitoring the video and the developments related to it. They have issued a major warning after several users started sharing the video on various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and X. Users who are desperately searching for the video are being targeted by hackers and scammers. These scammers are using the video’s popularity to inject malware into people’s devices to steal their banking details. Let’s know more.
The trend ‘19-minute video’, which refers to the 19-minute 34-second clip, allegedly features a young couple in an intimate moment. However, the source of the video is unknown. The video clip surfaced on the internet in the last week of November and instantly became viral.
The video has driven massive search traffic.
Scammers are exploiting the viral curiosity and are sharing fake links. When curious users click on these links, malware is secretly downloaded into their devices.
This malware is specially designed to steal sensitive information like bank details from the users’ devices. It will secretly steal the details from the user’s device, potentially leading to financial fraud and account drainage.
They have also created fake social media accounts to trap users. These accounts lure users to click on the malicious links, non-existent video.
The origin and source of the alleged video remain a mystery.
Some users started targeting other girls, stating they are the same girl featured in the controversial video. Several girls started receiving abusive comments.
Sweet Zannat is a famous Instagram influencer. She belongs to a small town which is located in Mahendraganj, Meghalaya. Zannat is known for her funny and daily life videos. Some users started saying that Zannat was the same girl featured in the 19-minute video, following which she started receiving abusive comments. To end this, Sweet Zannat shared a video asking users to compare her face with the girl shown in the clip.
Amid all this, a video of a police official surfaced on Instagram, informing people about the dangers of sharing the 19-minute viral video.
“The 19-minute video that is going viral is an AI-generated video. If you also want to check whether a video is AI-generated or not, then there is a site, you can go to and check it there.”
“If you share such videos with anyone, you could be prosecuted under sections 67, 67A, and 66 of the IT Act. This could result in a fine of up to two years and a sentence of up to three years. This is because violating someone’s privacy or sharing such videos could lead to a lawsuit against you,” the cop said.
