1. We may laugh off the problem of obesity in people, but a worrying fact is that more people in the world are suffer from obesity than from hunger! It is also an indication of how large the disparity between the rich and the poor is.

2. One of the most disturbing trends that has become rampant in our society is eating outside and not at home. As a matter of fact, people who regularly eat dinner or breakfast in restaurants double their risk of becoming obese. Home-made food is the best food after all.

3. To give you an idea of how dangerous outside food can be, and how misleading the sellers of these foods are, read this- McDonalds’ Caesar salad, which is presented as a healthy and low on fat food, is in fact more fattening than their hamburger!

4. Although we may have thought that the US has more fat people than any other country, but actually it is Mexico that is the world’s fattest country!

5. But it is not only junk food that is responsible for obesity, but the drastic changes in our lifestyles are also to blame. For example, a lack of sleep can cause weight gain of 0.9 kg in under a week.

6. For those who complain that they are obese because they do not sweat much and so they can’t help it, the fact is that when you lose weight, most of the fat is breathed out as carbon dioxide while the rest is excreted as water. So start that work-out now!
