83-Year-Old Lingerie Model, Dorrie, Has a Strong Message About Ageing; Watch Video
This 83-year-old lingerie model said that she is wanting to inspire women of her age and show them that they can still be sexy at the age of 80.
An interview of world’s ‘oldest’ lingerie model produced by BBC is going viral. In her interview, Dorrie Jacobson, an 83-year-old lingerie model from Las Vegas, has a very powerful message for all of us about ageing. She says, “Age is not a number, it’s an attitude.” Her message to the world is powerful. At some point, we get tired of life and stop living it happily. But according to Dorrie, all women should stop being age-appropriate and should start taking risks. They should go out and start living happily.
In the interview with BBC, she said that she wanted to inspire women of her age and show them that they could still be sexy at the age of 80. The women in their 60’s, 70’s or 80’s shouldn’t think that they have already lived their life, she said. “We are not like our grandmothers, sitting in a rock chair and knitting. We’re out there running a business, running a marathon, online dating and even getting physical.” To combat ageism, she has set up an Instagram page called the Senior Style Bible.

She is setting a new standard for women who think that some things cannot be done at a certain age.
Her Instagram page is a proof that Dorrie is one of the top fashion influencers over 60. She can even put some young actresses to shame.
She is promoting age diversity and body positivity in fashion!
Dorrie wrote in the Instagram post, “I may be 83, but I still love lingerie. I am not giving in to wearing old lady “granny panties.” As an older woman, I wear sexy lingerie because it makes me feel beautiful and I think I project that to the world. I decided to bare my imperfect, 80-something body because I think it’s important for women of all ages to know that “sexy” isn’t something that just suddenly expires. It’s time we stop listening to that message…and start writing a new, more inclusive definition of beauty.”
Dorrie used to be a Playboy bunny and now she is a fashion blogger. All she wants now is to spread her message to the world about ageing. Her message, “Just because you’re retiring from your job, doesn’t mean you’re retiring from life,” is worth pondering over.
