New Delhi: The maximum lifespan of any human is around 100 years. Very few people live that long. The average human lifespan is believed to be around 72 years. But what if someone told you that in the future, humans will live up to 150 years? This is a bit hard to believe, but AI, or artificial intelligence, has changed the game completely. Now it is being claimed that human lifespan can be extended with the help of AI. But the question arises: how will AI be able to do this? Let’s find out.
A report from the Data Society states that our bodies age because the DNA within our cells gradually deteriorates. When there is plenty of food, water, and rest, the body focuses on creating new cells rather than repairing them. Scientists at Harvard University have discovered a new method. They give the body a slight “shock,” causing cells to repair themselves. A drug for this is currently undergoing trials.
Previously, DNA was altered using a technology called CRISPR, but it only showed a single image at a single point in time. In real life, gene behaviour changes constantly, depending on diet, stress, and weather. Here, AI is performing wonders. AI monitors gene activity continuously and prescribes the right treatment at the right time. This makes treatment more individualised and precise for each person. Side effects are also minimal. Scientists say that in the future, people aged 60-70 will be as sharp as those aged 20-25. Memory and thinking skills will remain intact. People will not only live longer lives, but also healthier and happier lives.
Dmitry Adler, co-founder of Data Society, says, “AI won’t make you a superhero, but it will make you healthier, sharper-minded, and stronger.” Very soon, we will see people who, even at the age of 100-120, will be playing sports like young people.
