Alessandro Giuseppe Antonio Anastasio Volta retired in 1819 and his estate Camnago, Italy is now named Camnago Volta in his honor. Also there is a museum built in his honor, featuring exhibits of the equipment that Volta used to conduct experiments. Volta died on March 5, 1827.
