We are still reeling from the Bollywood hangover from the Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta engagement celebrations. The bash was nothing short of extravagant, whether it was about the flower decor, the food or the flash mob performances.
The world watched as the glitterati descended at the Ambani residence. The wedding is rumoured to be towards the end of the year.
What we came to notice was how there were some similarities in-between Virat Kohli- Anusak Sharma wedding and the engagement celebrations at the Ambani residence in Mumbai.
Both Shloka Mehta and Anushka Sharma wore custom Sabyasachi ensembles for their celebrations.
Anushka Sharma chose to wear a deep maroon velvet sari with intricate embellishments on the borders. Meanwhile, Shloka Mehta chose a light pink hued Sabyasachi lehenga for her pre-engagement celebrations. For the engagement bash Shloka chose an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla couture ensemble.
The chef that prepared the food was none other than celebrity chef Ritu Dalmia.
The Ambani bash had many food counters serving Italian, Gujarati and Rajasthani specialities. The had flown in exotic foods like black truffles, ricotta, burrata all the way from Italy.
The renowned French patisserie Laduree also added an aplomb with their signature Marie Antoinette cakes which are made with real rose petals and raspberries, praline bombs, hot-chocolate etc.
Virat and Anushka’s celebrations also had an interesting take on the menu with delicacies like porcini mushrooms wrapped in Bikaneri roti’s, stuffed ravioli with paneer khurchan, to indin sweets like rabri.
