On Sunday, in a series of tweets, Anand Mahindra announced that his company will immediately start working on how its manufacturing facilities can make ventilators along with offering Club Mahindra Holidays’ resorts as temporary care facilities. He added that the Mahindra Group is ready to support the Government of India and the army in establishing temporary healthcare facilities to tackle the ongoing pandemic. The Mahindra Foundation will also create a fund to assist the hardest hit in its value chain, both small businesses and the self employed, he said.
The Mahindra chief also urged other businesses under the Mahindra Group to contribute to the fund while declaring that he will contribute 100 percent of his salary to it.
Many on social media appreciated his gesture and thanked him for his help during the crisis.
