Mumbai Indians clinched their third Indian Premier League title on Sunday (May 21) beating Rising Pune Supergiant. Rohit Sharma captained MI did the unbelievable as they defended a small total of 129 to beat the opponents by one run playing the VIVO IPL 2017 final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Anant Ambani, the youngest franchise owner, celebrated the joyous achievement by paying a visit to Mumbai’s famous Siddhivinayak Temple. The pictures of Anant Ambani carrying the IPL 2017 winners’ trophy at the religious place have gone viral on the social media. Meet Purnima Dalal, the aunty who was seen praying for Mumbai Indians IPL win.
We have seen Anant Ambani supporting and cheering for his side during the tournament. But the young man did not forget to thank the Almighty after Mumbai Indians won from a losing position. After winning the match by one run on Sunday night, Anant ensured to bring the champions’ trophy to Siddhivinayak Temple and seek blessings. The youngest child of Mumbai Indians owners Nita Ambani, Anant looked satisfied and proud of his team’s incredible performance in the finals against RPS.
Batting first Mumbai Indians made a paltry total of 129 runs on the scoreboard. It was a match that had slipped away from their hands with a horrible show by their batsmen on the most important day of the tenth edition of Indian Premier League. Mumbai who has been table toppers throughout the season were bowled out cheaply by a rejuvenated Rising Pune Supergiant under the dual guidance of Australian skipper Steven Smith and former Indian captain, MS Dhoni.

Just when everyone thought the finals belonged to Pune in the Maharashtra derby, the unthinkable happened. Needing 11 runs off the last over, it was former Australian spearhead Mitchell Johnson who turned the fate around in favour of Mumbai Indians. A shocking moment for all Pune fans who failed to understand what unfolded before their eyes. Pune’s batsmen Daniel Christian watched in horror as his batting partner on the other end of the crease, Washington Sundar was run out handing Rising Pune Supergiant a defeat by one run.

Mumbai Indians have now won thrice – 2013, 2015 and now in 2017. The visit from Anant Ambani to thank Ganpati Bappa at the Siddhivinayak Temple has made the Mumbai Indians fans even more joyful. Anant is quite proactive ever since his inspirational weight loss journey. Not only Anant, we have seen his elder brother Aakash take the reigns of running the franchise right from the auction days to supporting from the boundary lines. VIVO IPL 2017 in true sense been all about Mumbai Indians.
