Android 5.0 Lollipop officially launched by Google

Google has officially launched the operating Android 5.0 Lollipop

Google, after introducing its Android L and the new Material Design interface in June, has officially launched  the operating Android 5.0 Lollipop. While everyone is keen on getting the new system on to their phones, it has been rumored that the newest update will be available only for Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and 10 tablets.  Google Play will also be getting the updates. Alphabetically naming their updates have been a trend followed by Google and now Lollipop is the newest addition after Alpha, Beta, Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and KitKat.  Variations of Lollipop will eventually run on Android tablets, watches, TVs, and just about anything else with a screen.

With Lollipop, Google is expected to come out with some major updates and features . Your device will automatically notify when the updates will be available. For checking the update, you can check it by going to Settings-About phone-System Update-Check Now

Android 5.0 Lollipop will have a major design remake which Google calls as Material Design which will make the UI a lot smoother, graphics rich. High animated touch including ripple touch effect will also be combined into this update . Better notifications, battery saver, better connectivity, and improved security, among others. Some other features include Kill Switch and improved security, a new messenger which will be a simplified version of Hangouts and ART Android runtime for improved application performance and responsiveness.
