iPhone 7 is still far from being announced, the September 9th event is for Apple iPhone 6S and the Apple iPhone 6S Plus, most likely. A report according to Mashable, a preview into the 2016 launch from the Cupertino firm could be a super thin smartphone.

According to the report, the next year iteration of iPhone may be as thin as 6.5 mm. The current version of the iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1 mm thick and that’s pretty sleek as it is. losing another 0.6 inches is a huge diet for the smartphone. The iPhone 6 is slightly thinner at 6.9 mm thickness.

The Apple iPhone 7 will be so thin thanks to the durable 7000 series aluminium alloy. The alloy is apparently used in the cases of the iPhone 6 as well. No other details have been shared by the report at the moment. We hope to hear some news about it during Apple’s 9th September event about a new iPhone launch.
