Apple CEO Tim Cook said a "new member will join the family" on February 19.

iPhone maker Apple has announced first major product launch event of the year, with CEO Tim Cook dropping hints that the tech giant may launch a new variant of the iPhone series. Taking to X, Cook announced that the world will meet the “newest member of the family” on February 19, the date of the launch event.

While Cook did not mention which product will be unveiled at the event, tech enthusiasts and industry insiders speculate that the Apple chief was likely talking about the much-anticipated iPhone SE 4, which could possibly be the showstopper at launch event. The latest iPhone was expected to be launched earlier this week on February, but this turned out to be mere rumor.

iPhone SE 4 features

According to industry, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be a major upgrade from the previous SE variants and may come with revamped design and enhanced features such as:

• Larger, brighter display: The iPhone SE 4 is likely to be equipped with a larger and better 6.1-inch OLED display, with a 60Hz refresh rate, which is significantly bigger and better than the 4.7-inch LCD used by its predecessor.
• Face ID: iPhone SE 4 may be equipped with Face ID, akin to the flagship iPhone variants, thus ditching the Touch ID home button.
• Better camera: The new iPhone variant is expected to flaunt a 48MP main rear camera (up from 12MP) and a 24MP front shooter, significantly improving photography.
• Faster chipset, more RAM: The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be powered by an Apple A18 Bionic chip, which powers the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. The new iPhone will also likely to boast 8GM of RAM, and may have integrated Apple Intelligence features, according to reports.
• Revamped design: As per Apple analysts, iPhone SE 4 is likely to come with a revamped design, and may opt for a flat-edge design akin to the iPhone 14.

Apple may unveil M4 MacBook Air

Apart from the iPhone SE 4, Apple is also expected to unveil its latest range of MacBook laptops, the M4 MacBook Air, and while there has been official confirmation from the tech titan, experts believe that the launch  of the new MacBook is “more than likely”.
