In a shocking incident, an American woman who went to sleep with a severe headache woke up with a British accent. Another bizarre part is that she has been suffering from the same since past two years. Michelle Myers who was a former beauty queen is from Buckeye, Arizona and now she speaks with an Irish accent even though she never she left her home country. Reportedly she suffers from a rare medical condition known as a Foreign Accent Syndrome- a condition which is usually associated with neurological damage. As per the researchers at the University of Texas, this syndrome is speech disorder and the same causes a sudden change to speech and the same makes the sufferer sound like they have some other accent than they had. Apparently, it is not the first time that such condition has happened to her. She earlier woke up with an Irish accent and later with an Australian accent. The condition is extremely rare as till now only around 60 cases got reported in the past century and were first described by a neurologist named Pierre Marie in 1907. Some doctors believe that Myers got the condition cause of another condition called as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.  EDS is a syndrome you are born with. And the same results in easy rupturing of blood vessels and painful joints. “Some people think it’s physiological; others think it’s psychological,” Myers told ABC 15.“People like me – we don’t care which one it is.
