China’s search engine giant, Baidu Inc is all set to provide self-driving cars for the people and has been testing out the driverless cars. However, Baidu is currently under the radar as its CEO; Robin Li tested a driverless car on public roads. Baidu Inc has already begun testing the cars on roads and now awaits sanctions from the local authorities. China has been striving to get ahead in developing self-driving cars and aims to have an economy that is driven by high-tech changes. While Baidu has refused to comment on the entire episode, people have been discussing if the company had secured all the necessary permissions before running the test. The self-driving test from Beijing was promoted by the CEO himself, who conducted a live chat and spoke about the progress made by the company. Robin Li conducted the live chat with participants of the firm’s artificial intelligence conference and projected the feed from the testing on streets. The video showed a huge screen sitting in the passenger seat of a self-driving car while on Beijing roads.
