Deeya summited at 4:30 AM on 16th May and was followed by her father 15 minutes later. They started their journey on 16th April and within a month submitted Everest. According to reports Deeya who has completed an advanced mountaineering course from Nehru Institue of Mountaineering (NIM), wanted to send a message to all girls, that if they get the right opportunity they can do anything, even climb the highest mountain in the world.
Ajeet Bajaj has been given a Padma Shri awardee for his role in growing adventure tourism and is also an alumnus of The Lawrence School, Sanawar. He is the first Indian to have skied on both the North and South Pole within a year.
His Daughter Deeya Bajaj is a Cornwell University graduate and is assisting her father to run their adventure tourism company called Snow Leopard Adventures Private Limited.
