Bangladesh team scores 92 runs in 4 balls, thanks to the 80 extras! Dhaka Second Division Cricket League has a tale to tell!
In a match between two teams of Dhaka Second Division Cricket League, ‘Axiom’ and ‘Lalmatia’, Axiom won the match in just four balls by getting 80 extra runs.
Cricket has always been endorsed as an unpredictable game. However, one thing that has remained constant is that a player makes a maximum of 36 runs in one over. (Remember Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes?)While there is a possibility of making more than 36 runs if the bowler delivers a few extras, the changes are EXTREMELY LOW. However, a match in the Dhaka Second Division Cricket League, Bangladeshhas proven this wrong as a team won the match by playing just four legal balls. In a match between two teams, ‘Axiom’ and ‘Lalmatia’, Axiom won the match in just four balls by getting 80 extra runs.
According to the score card, Lalmatia had set a target score of 88 runs by playing 14 overs in the one-day match of the cricket league. When Axiom came to bat, the batsmen only faces four legal balls and made 12 runs of them. The remaining runs were earned from 65 wide balls (65 runs) and three no balls (15 runs). The shocking result has taken everyone by surprise as the Axiom managed to win the match by merely facing four balls. The over was bowled by a young bowler, Sujon Mahmud. However, he was not to be blamed.
Here is the scorecard of the Dhaka Second Division Cricket League match
According to a report in Dhaka Tribune, the team is blaming the biased on-field umpires who gave unfair decisions against the team. General Secretary of the Lalmatia, Adnan Rahman Dipon said, “It started at the toss. My captain was not allowed to see the coin, and we were sent to bat first, and as expected, the umpires decisions came against us.” The team secretary said that most of the senior players did not show up and the younger members could not question the umpire’s decision. While no official complaint has been launched to the cricketing committee, the news has certainly set an example of its own. And people cannot stop laughing at the fact that a team won a match by scoring 92 runs in just four balls! This incident goes on to prove that when it comes to cricket, anything is possible!
