Bigg Boss contestants never fail to find themselves in the midst of controversies. Be it intentionally or unintentionally, the contestants often fall prey to ‘fake relationships’, ‘linkups’ and onscreen ‘breakups’. The ongoing season, Bigg Boss 11, too has a similar story to tell. The show already has a ‘couple’ – Puneesh Sharma and Bandagi Kalra, and it looked like there was another romance brewing between contestants Priyank Sharma and Benafsha Soonawalla. It was a little shocking for their fans, as Priyank and Benafsha already have a connection, Divya Agarwal and Varun Sood, outside the show. However, it has all turned out to be a false alarm. Benafsha Soonawalla, who was voted out of the show on November 19, has posted a long message on her Instagram handle and said that it was all a joke. She has even blamed Priyank for “making wrong statements about this”.
The proximity between Benafsha and Priyank had affected Priyank’s girlfriend Divya so much that she went on to publicly announce their breakup, while Varun said he wants to wait until Benafsha comes out of the house. As soon as she was evicted, Benafsha gave a string of interviews and said that she has no idea why she was getting so much hate. She added that it was all a joke between Priyank and her, and that she would later go up to him and laugh about the entire incident. In her Instagram post, Benafsha writes, “Pri, you’ve always been my best friend but for you to make wrong statements in the house about this was the worst thing you could’ve done to me. You KNEW it was all a joke. Why did you.” She adds that she has had to speak up because her loved ones have been affected by all this.
Viewers were particularly shocked when they saw her sleeping in the same bed with Priyank. To this, Benafsha said that it was only for a few minutes, that too because she was crying and had gone to say sorry and sort things out. She also states that from a viewers point o view, it might have looked like something was going on between the two. “If I was you, I’d judge me too. BUT there’s a difference. I was there for 24 hours per day and y’all got to see just one hour of it. Ever gave it a second thought?,” she writes in her Instagram post.
Through the post and through various interviews that Benafsha gave after her exit from the show, Benafsha reiterates the point that she is very much with Varun. It was also very heartening to see Varun meet her as soon as she was evicted and join her in the Instagram live video to say that people should stop judging. Benafsha had also stated that she will meet Priyank’s girlfriend Divya to clarify things.
