Spain has been synonymous with dominating and ruling over the FIFA World Cup for six years. But their reign came to an end, as they were eliminated from the FIFA World Cup 2014 after two consecutive losses.
But even as the defending champions are dumped out of the FIFA World Cup 2014 tournament, you can relive their Waka Waka days. We share with you this special video of the World Cup title holders Spain’s full match from FIFA World Cup 2010 final that took place at the Soccer City in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was the 19th FIFA World Cup, and the final match was played between Spain and Netherlands.
Spain defeated Netherlands 1-0 after extra time and the goal was credited to Andres Iniesta. This victory gave Spain their first World Cup title and also it was the first time of winning without home advantage since Brazil in 1958 and the only team to win the tournament after losing their opening game.
This victory also marked the first time a European nation thrashed another Europe team and won a football World Cup that was not hosted in Europe.
