Porters are the most common sight at the railway stations that help the passengers with their heavy luggage. Though men mostly take up the laborious job, now even women are sighted as the coolie at the railway station. Taking to Twitter, the Ministry of Railways took to its official handle to praise female porters. Sharing pictures of three women porters carrying the heavy luggage, they tweeted, “Working for Indian Railways, these lady coolies have proved that they are second to none !! Talking about the film, Coolie No. 1 is a remake of 1995 Govinda and Karishma Kapoor starrer and features Sara Ali Khan opposite Varun in the lead. Recently, during an interaction with Zoom, Govinda mentioned how Varun looks up to him and he wishes him the best for the success of Coolie No. 1 remake.
The filming of the David Dhawan directorial began in August last year in Bangkok. After shooting the major parts in Thailand, the team flew back to Mumbai where the rest of the film was shot. Now, the team wants to capture the churches and the beaches of Goa to bring more peppiness to Sara’s character and define romance between her and Varun’s character. Producer Jackky Bhagnani talked to the daily about the same and said, “Sara’s character is from Goa, so, we will also be filming some important scenes which are integral to the narrative, along with some lighter moments featuring Jaaved.”
The original 1995 hit film featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead. The remake of Coolie No. 1 is set to hit the screens on May 1.
