There are seven central armed police forces (CAPFs) in India which are directly under the jurisdiction of the centre through the ministry of home affairs (MHA). However, most people are not aware about the roles of various armed forces in India. Every year, 23rd March is observed as Martyrs’ Day in honor of Indian freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar. On this Martyrs day, to salute the un-daunting courage of our armed forces, Inshorts has launched this video to salute our martyrs for giving up their lives during freedom struggle so that subsequent generations could live in peace and prosperity. The Assam Rifles (AR), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Security Guard (NSG) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) – these were the 7 paramilitary forces of India and each of their functions is different and unique. Each one is important to the national security and for the well-being of the nation. While initially, the 5 Central Armed Police Forces were referred to as the para-military forces, the Central Armed Police Forces are not counted under Paramilitary Forces officially, though unofficially people still identify them as Paramilitary Forces. The Central Armed Forces of India are: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Paramilitary Forces are: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), The Assam Rifles (AR), The Special Frontier Force (SFF).
