Virat Kohli who hit a magnificent third century at the Commonwealth Bank Series in Australia was at his candid best during the question and answer session in the post match press conference. The 26-year-old was obviously beaming with pride on his great run in the Test Series and gave some honest answers. Virat who is known for his over-the-top aggression on field, once again had a busy day on Day 3 of the Third Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground. He was involved in an ugly spat with Mitchell Johnson on the field, but Virat kept talking about it off the field as well. The cricketer said, “They were calling me a spoilt brat and I said ‘Maybe that’s the way I am, and I know you guys hate me’… and it worked in my favour, I guess.” Virat complained about how the sledging went on throughout the day. But Virat played cool while discussing his tactics on playing against Australia, saying, “I like playing against Australia because it’s very hard for them to stay calm and I don’t mind an argument on the field. It really excites me and brings the best out of me, so they don’t seem to be learning their lesson!”
But it was Virat’s confession about his true feelings about Australian opponent Mitchell Johnson that nailed the press conference. He said, “I respect quite a few of them but someone who doesn’t respect me, I’ve got no reason to respect him.” Well, looks like the verbal-war that took place on field between Virat Kohli and Mitchell Johnson seems to be far from over!
