The picture of Muslims offering the Eid al-Adha Namaz in Ganesh Murti Nagar Pandal was shared by the Mumbai Police who were super proud to have witnessed this beautiful sight. “The essence of #Mumbai captured in one frame at Ganesh Murti Nagar, Cuffe Parade! Need we say more? #EidAlAdha #Ganeshotsav,” the picture was aptly captioned and melted millions of hearts online. Twitterati prayed for the harmony and love to spread and reach many more hearts.
While many questioned why some of the Muslims were facing their back to the Ganesh Idol while offering their prayers, others educated people and revealed that Muslims normally face towards the Mecca while offering their prayers. This is not the first time that Muslims found space inside Ganpati pandals to offer their prayers. In fact, back in 2015, a Masjid in Colaba Mumbai got over crowded, and a nearby Ganpati Pandal had opened its gates and let Muslims offer their prayers inside the pandal.
