New Delhi: Responding to PM Modi’s call, people across India are observing the ‘Janata Curfew’ today and are sharing pictures and videos on social media to show how they are making the most of their time at home. Streets across India wore a deserted look today and with people staying indoors, the otherwise busy cities of India remained hauntingly empty, giving citizens umpteen time to catch up on their favourite activities and spend time with their families. Interestingly, the ‘Janata Curfew’ even gave time to some to test their skills at cooking, gardening and painting among other activities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called for the janata curfew” or self-imposed quarantine to break the chain of coronavirus infections.

Following Prime Minister Modi’s message, several famous personalities including politicians from various parties, sportsmen and celebrities have also come out in support of the social exercise.

Meanwhile, the death toll from coronavirus in India reached six on Sunday as two deaths were reported from Bihar and Maharashtra.
