New Delhi: This case fits the parameters of being called bizarre or situational. This is about a lawyer in America who has filed a case against Facebook’s parent company, Meta. The reason for filing the case is also very interesting, because the lawyer’s name is Mark Zuckerberg, and he happens to share his name with the Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
Mark Zuckerberg says that Facebook is repeatedly suspending his account, due to which he has suffered a loss of thousands of dollars in business. It is reported that after the matter reached the court, Meta tendered an apology.
According to media reports, Mark Zuckerberg is a lawyer who lives in Indiana. He has alleged that his Facebook account has been blocked for the wrong reasons. He has been in the legal profession for 38 years and alleges that Facebook has blocked his account 5 times in the last 8 years, and every time, he was accused of pretending to be ‘someone else’.
He has also alleged that his practice has been affected due to repeated bans. He filed a case in Marion Superior Court and claimed that Meta violated its agreement by removing ads worth $11,000.
Zuckerberg says he has provided several identification documents, including a photo ID, a credit card and several photos of himself. He said, “I did whatever they told me. They told me that if you feel the suspension is not fair, then you can appeal, so I appealed the very next day. I did not receive any response from them on this, and it has been 4 months now.”
Mark said, “The last time they did this, it took more than 6 months to activate the account. So, I don’t know how else to attract their attention.” The last time his account was closed was in May, and it was restored only after filing a case.
Meanwhile, Meta had called it a mistake and said, “We appreciate Zuckerberg’s patience and are working to avoid any such incident in the future.” However, it did not say anything about the losses he has suffered due to the closure of his Facebook account.
